Galgotias University and L&T EduTech Launch India’s First Advanced Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence on Campus
Galgotias University, in collaboration with L&T EduTech, has launched India’s first Advanced Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence on campus, offering hands-on training in electric mobility technologies, battery systems, and automotive engineering. The initiative strengthens industry-integrated learning, research, and future-ready engineering education in India.
The state-of-the-art Centre brings real-world electric vehicle systems directly into the academic environment, offering students hands-on exposure to fully functional electric cars, electric two-wheelers, live battery packs and modules, battery management systems, electric vehicle powertrain technologies, charging infrastructure, controllers, motors, diagnostic platforms, and embedded mobility systems. Designed as an applied engineering and experiential learning ecosystem, the facility enables students to engage directly with technologies shaping the global future of transportation.
Unlike conventional engineering laboratories that rely primarily on simulation-based learning, the Advanced Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence provides direct interaction with industrial-grade components and operational electric mobility platforms. Students receive practical training across electric vehicle architecture, battery technology, charging systems, diagnostics, thermal management, embedded systems, drivetrain integration, power electronics, vehicle communication systems, and sustainable mobility engineering.
The collaboration integrates industry-aligned curriculum frameworks, specialised technical training, experiential modules, and application-oriented learning systems into the academic structure. The initiative is aimed at strengthening industry readiness and developing a future-ready talent pipeline for India’s rapidly expanding electric mobility and clean transportation sector.
Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, Chief Executive Officer of Galgotias University, stated that the future of engineering education depends on deep integration between academic learning and real industry systems. He emphasized that the Advanced Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence provides direct exposure to live electric mobility platforms, battery technologies, diagnostics systems, and industrial infrastructure that are shaping the global transportation landscape. He further noted that universities must evolve beyond traditional classroom models to create immersive environments that enable innovation, research, and leadership in emerging technologies.
The collaboration builds on the growing partnership between Galgotias University and L&T EduTech. Earlier in the year, L&T EduTech recognised Galgotias University as a Blue Chip Partner during the L&T EduTech NEXUS 2026 event, acknowledging the university’s strong industry engagement, technology-driven learning ecosystem, and consistent focus on future-oriented engineering education.
The new facility strengthens momentum in electric mobility, sustainable transportation, clean energy systems, and advanced manufacturing. It is expected to support interdisciplinary learning and applied research across engineering, electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, embedded systems, automotive engineering, and smart mobility solutions.
Galgotias University continues to expand its ecosystem of industry-integrated laboratories, innovation centres, and advanced technology infrastructure in collaboration with leading global and national partners. The university has developed capabilities in emerging domains including artificial intelligence, semiconductor technologies, electric mobility, cybersecurity, immersive technologies, and high-performance computing.
The institution currently hosts more than 50,000 students and maintains an alumni network exceeding 100,000 graduates. In the academic year 2026, students secured more than 5,100 job offers from over 1,250 recruiters. The university maintains strategic partnerships with leading organisations including Apple, Infosys, Intel, Cisco, Tata Technologies, L&T EduTech, Capgemini, and Salesforce, strengthening its focus on industry alignment, innovation, and global academic collaboration.
